Welcome to Durga Bhawani Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.
Durga Bhawani Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (Durga Bhawani SACCOS) was established on 5th of Ashwin 2055 (21 Sept. 1998), Ghatasthapana, the first day of Durga Puja Festival. Thus the name of the SACCOS is happened by the name of Goddess Durga, a goddess of energy. It is a community-based organization engaged in various social and financial activities. The SACCOS is located at Durga Bhawani Chowk, Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 4.
Special efforts and labor of the residents of Dhumbarahi are invested in moving this organization ahead, while the permanent inhabitants of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 4 and 5 have established it under the inspiration of the former General Secretary of the NEFSCUN, Mr. Rishi Raj Ghimire. It has been registered with the District Cooperative Office, Kathmandu on 25th of Mangsir 2055 (11 December 1998) under the provision of the Cooperatives Act, 2048.
The main objectives of the cooperatives are to promote saving habits, invest loan with reasonable interest rate to fulfill the financial necessities of its members and improve thereby socioeconomic condition, and to develop, promote and strengthen economic activities.
This cooperative is governed by the General Assembly of around 2500 members as the top most decision making body. For day to day operation of the cooperative, an Executive Committee consisting of nine members has been formed. There are 11 capable staffs working under the direct line management.
Besides, there is Durga Bhawani Polyclinic (DBPC), established on 15th of Kartik 2062 (Nov 1, 2005), as one of the sister organizations of this cooperative. |
