Facilities for Members Arrangements are made for medical treatment, if necessary, of any member of the organization in any other hospital or health centre by providing loan facilities at the minimum rate of interest. A certain amount is also made available for expenses towards the funeral of any member on his or her death. Education and Training With the conviction that a conscious member is the property of the organization, public awareness program, health education, public education program, multi-speciality training, and the like are organized from time to time for the benefit of the members. Revolving Fund and Scholarship With a view to provide regular scholarship to the intelligent students from the ethnic group of the poor, oppressed and economically backward classes, a revolving fund has been set up, from the interest accrued of which two students – one boy and one girl – are awarded scholarships every year. Honor and Reward The members and the employees who make significant contributions to the organization are honored and rewarded every year on the occasion of the General Meeting. Income Generation and Creation of Employment Keeping in view of the fact that different sorts of anti-social and abnormal activities grow out of the unemployed and drug addict people owing to the lack of working capital for being engaged in any business or income generating activities as well as due to the growth in urbanization, poverty, unemployment and homeless people, the organization has been, with a view to minimizing such problems, providing soft loans without any collateral under the guarantee of some persons and helping to carry out small scale industries, business, trades and groceries. This has helped greatly in reducing anti-social activities, and promoting income generating efforts and economic development through the creation of employment opportunities. Assistance in Development and Construction Work This organization, being a community-based cooperative, is actively engaged in social development activities for which various sub-committees like Community Development Sub-committee and Women Sub-committee have been formed. With people's participation generated through the efforts of these sub-committees and members, the organization has been assisting development works like keeping the roads and lanes clean, constructing and repairing of shaded places, flower gardens and drainages, paving the inner roads and black-topping the main streets within the area of its jurisdiction. Development of Youth and Sport The organization encourages the youths to participate in the cultural activities like music and dance and in the football and volleyball competitions for their mental and physical development for which it has also been extending assistance as much as possible. |
